From Wednesday to Sunday, all eyes will be on Baku’s National Gymnastics Arena where Europe’s finest Rhythmic gymnasts will compete on a stage fit for the brightest stars. Baku will welcome 189 senior and 124 junior gymnasts. A total of 18 senior groups are registered. Spurred on by our legendary mascot Luigi, juniors will compete in the group competition while we’ll see the seniors in action both individually and in the group exercises.

Who to watch?

Headlining an impressive roster are reigning World all-around Champion Sofia Raffaeli (ITA), European Champion with ball and ribbon Boryana Kaleyn (BUL) and clubs World Champion Darja Varfolomeev (GER). Other big names include European and / or World medallists Stiliana Nikolova (BUL), Ekaterina Vedeneeva (SLO), Adi Asya Katz (ISR), Milena Baldassarri and Alexandra Agiurgiuculese (ITA).

Biggest absentee is defending European all-around Champion Daria Atamanov but making her senior debut for the Israeli team is last year’s team and ribbon junior European Champion Daniella Munits.

In the group competition, we look forward to an exciting battle between world-class participants like Italy, Bulgaria, Israel, Azerbaijan, Ukraine and Spain.

The hopes of the host nation Azerbaijan rest on the shoulders of the junior group, the World medallist senior group featuring Gullu Aghalarzade, Laman Alimuradova, Zeynab Hummatova, Kamilla Aliyeva, Yelizaveta Luzan and Darya Sorokina, while Zohra Aghamirova and Alina Gozalova will defend the country’s honour in senior individual.

Of course, all gymnasts are looking to excel in Baku! We wish every single gymnast loads of success, supporting them to achieve their goals.

Competition format

The 24 gymnasts with the highest combined ranking obtained for 3 routines in the qualifying competition will advance to the Individual All-Around Final. The 8 highest ranked gymnasts / groups in the qualifying competition per apparatus advance to the Apparatus Finals.

The all-around results for junior and senior groups are determined according to the qualification scores.

The team result is calculated by adding the 8 scores of the team’s individual gymnasts and their 2 group exercises.

On Tuesday, Antalya’s Sports Hall will be the place to be for all gymnastics fans! Entry to the venue is free of charge.

Out of respect for the victims of the earthquakes that hit Türkiye on 6 February 2023, we’ll focus on the sports event itself. Any additional entertainment has been cancelled, including the performance of our mascot Luigi.

39 Federations are travelling to Antalya to challenge for the continental titles. A total of 321 gymnasts are scheduled to compete: 178 men and 143 women, for team, all-around and apparatus glory.

On the Field of Play, we’ll witness performances by the 2022 European All-Around Champion Asia D’Amato (ITA) and apparatus winners Artem Dolgopyat (ISR), Harutyun Merdinyan (ARM), Eleftherios Petrounias (GRE), Jake Jarman (GBR), Zsofia Kovacs (HUN), Eli Seitz (GER), Emma Malewksi (GER) and Jessica Gadirova (GBR). Other big names include reigning World Champions Rhys McClenaghan (IRL) and Artur Davtyan (ARM), 2016 Olympic Champion Sanne Wevers (NED), 2020 junior European Champions Ana Barbosu (ROU) and Ilia Kovtun (UKR) and seasoned vault and rings medallist Igor Radivilov (UKR), as well as European all-around bronze medallist Martina Maggio (ITA).

The home nation Türkiye’s hopes rely on reigning World Champion on rings Adem Asil, double European Champion Ferhat Arican and Vice-European all-around Champion Ahmet Onder.

We proudly welcome back to the international stage Vasiliki Millousi (GRE) and Marta Pihan-Kulesza (POL), two fan favourites and exceptional athletes, returning to competition after becoming mums. What an inspiration!

Keep your eyes on junior stand-outs Sabrina Maneca-Voinea (ROU) and Anna Lashchevska (UKR) who recently won World Cup stages, along with Amalia Ghigoarta (ROU), Radomyr Stelmakh (UKR) and Botond Molnar (HUN) who are making their senior debut here.

Competition format

A MAG Team consists of 3 - 5 gymnasts, of which up to 4 compete on each apparatus. MAG Federations who compete with a Senior Team may bring a 6th gymnast to participate as an individual apparatus specialist. This gymnast may compete on a maximum of 3 apparatus. Each country can enter 5 WAG gymnasts, of which a maximum of 4 gymnasts compete on each apparatus.

The results of both the men’s and women’s qualifying competition will determine the Team European Artistic Gymnastics Champion 2023. The 3 best scores on each apparatus are added together to make the total score for the Team.

The 24 gymnasts with the highest ranking obtained in the qualifying competition will qualify for the Individual All Around Final. A maximum of 2 gymnasts per National Federation are allowed. 3 reserve gymnasts will be designated.

The 8 highest ranked gymnasts in the qualifying competition per apparatus advance to the Apparatus Finals, with a maximum of 2 gymnasts per country / final.

Just 9 months after the last Europeans, the TeamGym community is back in full force for the first ever TeamGym Europeans to be held in Luxembourg!

We’re proud to announce a record participation of 17 countries, represented by 598 gymnasts, 318 seniors and 280 juniors! In the junior competition, we’ll see 13 women’s team, 6 mixed teams and 5 men’s teams while the seniors field 10 women’s team, 9 mixed teams and 8 men’s teams.

The 2022 TeamGym Europeans will take place from 14 to 17 September in the Coque sports centre in Luxembourg city.

Who to watch?

We’re pleased to see the return of Denmark, Norway and the Netherlands who missed last year’s event. Defending Champions Sweden, Iceland and Great Britain will surely give everyone a run for their money.

Most of our 2021 All Star team is on the roster: Asta Kristinsdottir (ISL), Saona Canaud (FRA), Agnes Arvidsson (SWE), Evelina Rosengren (SWE), Teddie Ohrslin (SWE), Helgi Laxdal Adalgeirsson (ISL) and Elias Gustafsson (SWE) are all listed to compete. Kolbrun Tholl Thorradottir (ISL), Nicole Hosseini (SWE), Connor Wharram (GBR) and Victor Emanuelsson (SWE) are reserve gymnasts for their respective teams.

We wish all gymnasts a fantastic competition!

Competition format

Teams are formed by 8 to 12 gymnasts in 3 categories: men’s, women’s and mixed team. Both juniors and seniors will compete.

Each team competes on trampet, tumble and floor. The three scores combined determine the team ranking. 8 to 10 gymnasts compete on trampet and tumble each. All gymnasts are required to perform in the floor exercise.

The best 8 teams advance to the finals unless there are less than 12 teams in qualifications, then the best 6 teams advance to that final.

The best male and female gymnasts from each apparatus will become part of the All Stars team: 6 male and 6 female gymnasts. The selection includes gymnasts from the combined senior and junior competitions and will be announced after the last final on Saturday 17 September.

The 3 best scores on each apparatus are added together to make the team total on that apparatus, with the 8 best teams advancing to the team final where 3 gymnasts will compete on each apparatus and all 3 scores count towards the team total.

Who to watch?

Munich welcomes the reigning European Champion on floor and 2021 European Gymnast of the Year Jessica Gadirova and her twin sister Jennifer together with recently crowned Commonwealth Champions Alice Kinsella, Georgia-Mae Fenton and Ondine Achampong (GBR), 2020 European Champion on vault and bars Zsofia Kovacs (HUN), Germany’s star team featuring Kim Bui, Eli Seitz, Pauline Schaefer-Betz, Sarah Voss and Emma Malewski, France’s Marine Boyer, Italy’s trusted team of Alice and Asia D’Amato, Giorgia Villa and Martina Maggio, Portugal’s Filipa Martins and Slovenia’s vaulting duo Teja Belak, making her comeback after becoming a mum, and Tjasa Kysselef. Romania’s Ana Barbosu, who dominated the 2020 junior Europeans will make her senior European debut. In the junior competition, we’ll see the stars of the recent European Youth Olympic Festival like Helen Kevric (GER) and Amalia Puflea (ROU).

On Wednesday competition will begin at Tel Aviv’s Expo. It’s the second time Israel will host the Rhythmic Europeans, after a fantastic event in 2016 in Holon! The atmosphere promises to be electrifying, riding on the wave of success of Israeli star Linoy Ashram, the country’s first female Olympic Champion.

A grand total of 39 National Federations will be represented by 286 gymnasts: 91 juniors, 83 senior individuals and 112 senior groups gymnasts, for 19 groups.

Who to watch?

Many big names will make the trip to Tel Aviv: reigning Vice-European all-around Champion Boryana Kaleyn will be joined by her talented teammate Stiliana Nikolova, Azerbaijan is sending their dynamic duo Arzu Jalilova and Zohra Aghamirova, Italy counts on their stars Milena Baldassarri and Sofia Raffaeli and Ukraine will be represented by the amazing trio Melania Tur, Polina Karika and Viktoria Onoprienko. Furthermore, we’re excited to welcome Slovenian star Ekaterina Vedeneeva, German talents Margarita Kolosov, Melanie Dargel and Darja Varfolomeev, Romanians Andreea Verdes and Annaliese Dragan, Spain’s Alba Bautista and Polina Berezina, Hungary’s Fanni Pigniczki, Latvia’s Jelizaveta Polstjanaja and many many more!

The hopes of the home nation rest on Daria Atamanov, the 2020 junior European Champion with clubs, and Adi Asya Katz. Both girls have made a great start on the World Cup circuit this year.

In the group competition, hosts Israel will look to beat their nearest rivals Italy, Bulgaria, Ukraine and Azerbaijan. But can Greece, Spain, Estonia, Finland, France, Great Britain, Georgia, Germany, Hungary, Latvia, Norway, Poland, Portugal or Slovakia cause an upset?

Of course, all gymnasts are looking to excel in Tel Aviv and we wish every single gymnast loads of success.

Competition format

Senior teams consist of 2 or 3 individual gymnasts and the senior group. Each individual gymnast needs to perform at least once. The top three scores determine the all-around ranking with the top 24 gymnasts advancing to the final. The top 8 gymnasts (max. 2 per country) advance to the apparatus finals. The team result is calculated by adding all the 8 notes of the team’s individual gymnasts and both routines of the senior group.

Senior groups compete 2 routines: one with 5 hoops and 1 with 3 ribbons and 2 balls. The combined score determines the all-around ranking. The top 8 per exercise advance to the apparatus finals.

Junior teams consist of 1 to 4 gymnasts. Per country, 1 routine per apparatus needs to be performed. The total of these 4 routines determines the team ranking. The top 8 per exercise advance to the apparatus finals.

This competition also serves as the continental qualifier for the 2022 World Championships. The International Gymnastics Federation FIG will announce the official qualifiers on their website.

On Wednesday, competition will begin at Rimini’s Fiera Expo & Convention Centre. It’s the very first time Italy will host the Trampoline Europeans! Their experience hosting the World Cup will surely guarantee a spectacular event.

26 Federations are travelling to Rimini to challenge for the continental titles. A total of 308 senior and 240 junior gymnasts are scheduled to compete.

Who to watch?

In Trampoline, several big names will appear on the start lists, including 2016 & 2020 Olympic medallist and reigning World Champion Bryony Page (GBR), 2019 European Games Champion and 2021 Vice-European Champion Léa Labrousse (FRA) and Allan Morante (FRA), multiple European medals holder. 3 of the 4 Portuguese gymnasts who clinched European team silver last year are registered to compete in Rimini: Diogo Abreu, Pedro Ferreira and Lucas Santos. 2021 junior European bronze medallist Elif Colak (TUR) will make her senior debut in both individual and synchro.

In Women’s Double Mini-Trampoline, three-time World Champion Lina Sjoeberg (SWE) is looking to grab a second European title! She should face fierce competition from Ines Martins (POR), Bethany Williamson (GBR) and Melania Rodriguez (ESP), who performed 8,5 difficulty in the World Cup event last weekend. In the Men’s competition, Portuguese winners of the 2021 Worlds team silver Tiago Sampaio Romao, Diogo Cabral and Diogo Fernandes are all registered. So is Jonas Nordfors (SWE), silver medallist at the 2018 Europeans, and Daniel Schmidt (GER), bronze-medal winner last year.

In Tumbling, 2021 European Champion Tachina Peeters (BEL) will try to defend her title against reigning World Champion Megan Kealy, with France’s Candy Briere-Vetillard, bronze in 2021, wanting to go upwards in the standings. The Men’s competition will see 2018 European Champion Mikhail Malkin (AZE) try to catch another European gold after his bronze last year. His main rivals are likely to be coming from Great Britain, in name of Kristof Willerton and Jaydon Paddock.

Of course, all gymnasts are looking to excel in Rimini and we wish every single gymnast loads of success.

Competition format

The competition programme in the disciplines TRA Synchro, DMT and TUM consists of a qualifying competition and a final. TRA individual competitions consist of qualifying rounds (Qualifications – two routines and Semi-finals – one routine), a final (one routine) and a team final (one routine). The gymnasts with the 24 best scores from Qualifications will advance to Semi-finals. Only 3 gymnasts per member federation may compete in Semi-finals. The gymnasts start Semi-finals with a score of zero.

TRA Synchro competitions consist of two routines in the qualifying round and one routine in the finals. DMT and TUM competitions consist of two passes in the qualifying round, two passes in the finals and one pass in the team finals.

A maximum of 8 gymnasts per discipline and age category, men and women (maximum 2 per country) and a maximum of 8 synchro pairs per age category, men and women (maximum 1 per NF) advance to the finals.

The team finals feature the top 5 teams in TRA individual, DMT and TUM per age category, men and women (3 gymnasts per team).

All gymnasts, pairs and teams will start Finals with a score of zero.

3 years after the last Europeans, the TeamGym community gathers in Portugal again, in Guimaraes this time, for the European Championships!

A total of 435 gymnasts will represent 14 countries. We’re delighted to welcome 2022 host Luxemburg as they participate for the very first time!

Competition format

Teams are formed by 8 to 12 gymnasts in 3 categories: men’s, women’s and mixed team. Both juniors and seniors will compete.

Each team competes on trampet, tumble and floor. The three scores combined determine the team ranking. 8 to 10 gymnasts compete on trampet and tumble each. All gymnasts are required to perform in the floor exercise.

The best 8 teams advance to the finals unless there are less than 12 teams in qualifications, then the best 6 teams advance to that final.

The best male and female gymnasts from each apparatus will become part of the All Stars team: 6 male and 6 female gymnasts. The selection includes gymnasts from the combined senior and junior competitions and will be announced after the last final on Saturday 4 December.

The audience in Pesaro’s Vitrifrigo Arena were treated to 6 high level and super exciting finals!

Just one tenth separated the three medallists in Individual Women. Top qualifier Darina Pashova (BUL) set the standard early on, posting 21.700. 2015 junior European Champion Teodora Cucu (ROU) came close, just 1 tenth short. Last up, Tatyana Konakova (RUS) scored 21.650, enough to overtake Cucu, but not enough to reach Pashova’s height.

Absent from Individual men’s competition for several years, 2017 European Champion Daniel Bali made an overwhelming return at these Europeans. The Hungarian topped the qualification round and performed fabulously in the final, scoring a huge 22.700. Only defending European Champion Roman Semenov (RUS) put up a challenge. His 22.550 secured the silver medal ahead of Pesaro crowd favourite Davide Nacci (ITA).

Bulgaria’s gold rush continued! First, in the mixed pairs where Ana-Maria Stoilova and Antonio Papazov held off defending Champions Fanni Mazacs and Daniel Bali for their first European title. And the Italian delegations’ celebrations continued as well: bronze for Anna Bullo and Marcello Patteri.

Then, the World Champions Darina Pashova, Antonio Papazov and Tihomir Barotev confirmed they are the ones to beat with a superb exercise in the trio final. With a score of 22.827, they were simply unbeatable. Romanian trio Teodora Cucu, Daniel Tavoc and David Gavrilovici beat the Russian trio Aleksei Germanov, Petr Perminov and Anton Kolobov by just 0.033 for the silver medal.

Romania, the defending European and reigning World Champion, excelled in the group final. Gabriel Bocser, Teodora Cucu, David Gavrilovici, Mihai Popa and Daniel Tavoc scored 22.533 to surpass top qualifiers Italy. Hungary, to the tunes of the popular Tetris game, added the bronze to their collection.

The Russian men were eager to regain their Aero Dance title after losing it to Azerbaijan in 2019. With a cool basketball themed routine, Russia scored 18.100, only to be tied with Hungary. As Hungary posted the better execution score, they returned home with the gold medal. Romania edged Italy for the bronze.

Pesaro’s Vitrifrigo Arena hosts the 12^th European Championships in Aerobic Gymnastics this weekend. Yesterday and today the qualification rounds were held. The best results in all categories combined determined the team European Champions!

The host nation Italy excelled on both days, topping the Group qualifications, ranking second in Individual Men, Mixed Pairs and Trios and tying for third in Aero Dance.

Romania clinched the silver thanks to second place in Individual Women and Groups, third in Trios and Aero Dance while Hungary counted top qualifier in Individual Men, David Bali, in their ranks for the bronze medal. The Aero Dance team of Russia advance to that final in first place.

Not competing for a team ranking, Bulgaria delivered the top qualifiers three senior categories: Darina Pashova topped the individual women, Ana-Maria Stoilova and Antonio Papazov were the best mixed pair and reigning World Champions Darina Pashova, Antonio Papazov and Tihomir Barotev lead in trio.

The gymnasts representing Russia won the junior Team title, ahead of Romania and Hungary. Great Britain’s Lola Lawrence topped the Individual Women qualifications while Italy’s Andrea Colnago was the best Man. Bulgaria delivered the top Mixed Pair, Russia the best Trio and Romania excelled in Group and Aero Dance.
