A gymnast since age 7 and a former national competitor, Dr. Jonna Salonen’s journey in the sport has since expanded to encompass being a coach, educator, judge, and official. A physician, she works at the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare, juggling her professional life with her role as chair of the Finnish Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Technical Committee. She is also a national top-level judging instructor and rules expert for the Finnish national team.
Dr. Salonen attended her first international judging course in 2001 and has held a Category 2 brevet since 2009. She has judged at numerous international events, including the 12 editions of the European Championships and the World Championships.
