The gymnastics final spot for the 1st European Games are taking place in a packed National Gymnastics Arena (NGA) in the Azeri capital Baku. With a capacity of 5400 seats, this temple dedicated exclusively to gymnastics, opened in 2014, saw a high attendance, surpassing even the most optimistic forecasts, especially during the finals of the six disciplines on the program of the European Union of Gymnastics (UEG).
Many visitors and officials of the European Olympic Committees have travelled to the NGA to follow the traditional Olympic gymnastics disciplines (artistic, rhythmic and trampoline), but also to discover aerobic and acrobatic, two full components of the Gym bouquet presented in Baku by UEG.
Among the guests invited by UEG, HSH the Prince of Monaco made the trip to the NGA in order to follow the first qualifying competitions. Alongside with the UEG President Georges Guelzec (FRA), they all spoke of the development of sports, especially at the European level, on the wake of contacts made at the recent Games of the Small States of Europe, which took place in early June in Reykjavik (ISL).
